Tuesday, September 30 is National Day for Truth and Reconciliation -- often referred to as Orange Shirt Day. Our office will be closed in the morning to allow our lawyers and administration to participate in the Remember Me Walk with The Healing of the Seven Generations. Orange Shirt Day is a day of memorial to gather and recognize the multi-generational effects of residential schools, including the children who never returned home and the Survivors of residential schools, their families, and their communities. The orange shirt symbolizes the loss of culture, freedom, and self-esteem that many Indigenous children experienced.
This day reminds us all that Every Child Matters.
