National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

National Day for Truth and Reconciliation

Sherman Law LLP stands in solidarity with the Indigenous community to commemorate the day that honours the children who survived the residential schools and remembers those who did not. Today is the first National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honours the lost children and the survivors of residential schools, their families, and communities. We know that public commemoration of the tragic and painful history of ongoing impacts of residential schools is a crucial part of the reconciliation process.

This post is only a first step. We understand that as a legal community we have much further to go in order to transform our solidarity into action. We know that we cannot change the past, but we are dedicated to determining the future.

Please consider donating your time and funds to advocate for change. There are many ways to become involved in your community, many of which do not require a financial contribution. You and your family can make a difference.
